Secondary Section Update 22/5/2025 IB2 and Y11 Congratulations to the IB2 students on completing the IB Diploma Programme examinations. We look forward to celebrating their hard work and perseverance at the IB Graduation ceremony on Friday evening. For the Year 11 students, Cambridge IGCSE examinations continue. Keep going everyone and maintain the great attitude and hard work you have shown so far. End of Year Exams The end of Year examinations commence next week on Thursday 29 May, and run until Wednesday 4 June. The exams are for all students in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and IB1. Revision should be well underway now by all students. A reminder that the exams are there to help reinforce prior learning and to help commit the knowledge to long term memory so it can be recalled when necessary. They also help departments to assess students key skills that have been developed. The examination schedule and seating plan has been resent again for reference. Please note that students must take responsibility for bringing all stationary items and calculators required. Any water bottles and pencil cases need to be transparent please to ensure that students become familiar with board examination requirements. BISJ Sports Well done to our U14 Boys and Girls Basketball teams who competed at the Red Sea Conference last weekend. We had four teams entered and were successful in winning both the boys and girls championships. Good luck to those teams as they compete again this weekend in Riyadh competing in the national level SAIKAC competition. Kenya Trip IB students and families please be aware of the IB Kenya Trip letter circulated and sign up accordingly. Last Day of School on 19/6 Finally, a reminder that the BISJ academic year does not finish after exams. We return to schools after the Eid Al Adha holiday on Wednesday 11 June for feedback and feedforward activities related to the end of year examinations. To support progress and improvement plus further learning and enjoyable activities. School finishes for the summer break on Thursday 19 June and we expect to see all students across Years 7, 8, 9 10 and IB1 in school every day through to the final assembly on the last day.

This rewarding role involves working closely with students requiring learning support by delivering targeted interventions, providing in-class assistance, and developing learner passports and academic profiles. The successful candidate will act as a key worker for selected students and collaborate with pastoral teams, counsellors, and external agencies to support academic and personal development. In addition, all teaching staff at BISJ contribute to our vibrant extracurricular programme, and this role includes leading an extracurricular club aligned with the school’s mission and vision. Key Responsibilities: · Provide tailored academic support and in-class assistance to students with SEN. · Support access arrangements during assessments and exams. · Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to support student development. · Create a supportive learning environment that promotes independence and confidence. · Lead a club activity as part of the school’s Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) programme.
